Position: Medical Physics
Location: Greenwood, SC
The successful candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment, demonstrating excellent communication and organizational skills.
The state-of-the-art radiation oncology department features cutting-edge equipment, including the Varian TrueBeam Edge and Trilogy systems, Eclipse and ARIA. Additionally, they offer GammaMed HDR, SRS/SBRT/SIMTSRS capabilities, fully integrated SunCheck and RADformation products to ensure precise and efficient patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Calibration of dose meters and radiation equipment.
- Beam data acquisition for treatment planning.
- Preparation of data for treatment planning systems.
- Ensures compliance with Federal, State and organizational regulations for radiation safety.
- Participates in development of organizational Performance Improvement activities.
- Assists in Acceptance testing and commissioning of new machines.
- Performs individual treatment planning, dosimetry calculations, and treatment planning reviews.
- Provides physics consultation to all radiation oncology personnel.
- Ensure routine verification of department treatment planning system.
- Collaborates with information services department.
- Assists in the planning and shielding calculations for new radiation facilities.
- Interprets and prepares documentation summary of regulatory changes.
- Provides dosimetry checks following source changes.
- Assists with the selection and acquisition of sources for permanent implant techniques.
- Participates in clinical education, training, and competency evaluations for medical physics staff.
Qualifications:
- M.S. or PhD (preferred) in Medical Physics, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years clinical experience in addition to a CAMPEP-accredited residency.
- Certification in Radiation Oncology Physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or other certifying body.
- Candidates who are not certified must achieve board certification within 3 years of hire.
- Must apply for and maintain relevant State licensing and/or registration.
