BECOME AN AIRCRAFT DEICER LEAD!
The Seasonal Aircraft Deicer Lead ensures safe and efficient aircraft de-icing and fueling operations. Responsibilities include reporting to the Supervisor, performing daily quality checks, maintaining equipment, and applying de-icing fluids. This role involves safely driving large vehicles around aircraft, tracking fuel and de-icing fluid transactions, and adhering to all safety standards and procedures. Effective communication with dispatch is essential.
WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK AS AN AIRCRAFT DEICER LEAD
- Check aircraft for leading-edge ice and frost
- Reports daily to Supervisor and/or Manager detailing the status of daily operations
- Check equipment for unsafe conditions and take appropriate action to correct such conditions
- Conduct weekly safety debriefing as necessary
- Assures adherence to safety procedures
- Perform fueling in a safe and efficient manner
- Accurately track fuel transactions
- Execute daily quality control checks on equipment
- Maintain equipment in clean and functional condition
- Apply de-icing fluid Type I and Type IV to aircraft wings, fuselage, and tail
- Safely drive large vehicles around aircraft while the deicing operation is being performed
- Accurately record deicing fluid transactions for account purposes
- Operate headset/radio to provide communication with the dispatcher
- Perform daily quality control checks on equipment and vehicles
- Must abide by and comply with all safety standards and procedures
- Responsible for driving large heavy vehicles around aircraft while deicing operations are being performed
- Exceed PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
- 18 years of age or older
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents
- Ability to use electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
- Effectively communicate both in-person and through electronic means
- Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
- Ability to work any day/shift, including holidays, within a 24/7 operation
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY/WORKING CONDITIONS MAY INCLUDE:
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
- Prolonged standing and walking in an indoor/outdoor environment as applicable
- Must be able to push, pull
- Must be able to reach with arms and grasp with hands
- Must be able to work at elevated heights
- Exposure to outdoor elements
- Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and kneel
- Must be able to crawl and crouch, at times, in confined tight spaces
- Exposure to moderate and at times high noise levels
- Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms
- Tasks may involve repetitive motions of the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
