Clinical Nurse II - Brier Creek Infusion Clinic
Job Location: 10207 Cerny St, Raleigh, NC 27617
Job Summary: We are seeking a Clinical Nurse to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients at the Brier Creek Infusion Center. This position allows variety and learning opportunities as patients are from several sub-specialties, such as gastroenterology, neurology, endocrinology, dermatology, and rheumatology. Professional development is encouraged by advancement on the clinical ladder and participation in educational activities.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, provide and document professional nursing care in an Infusion setting, utilizing Maestro Care in accordance with physician orders and policies and therapy plans to include scheduling of the patient.
- Mix and prepare infusion medications under protocol.
- Administer infusion medications to patients as ordered by providers or by established protocols following the six rights of medication administration.
- Perform blood draws for labs as needed.
- Perform patient education.
- Stock and maintain inventory of patient care supplies.
- Make recommendations for nursing care plans, evaluate nursing care provided, document and communicate appropriate nursing action taken and patient responses in infusion.
- Identify clinical, operational and safety-related performance improvement opportunities and participate in performance improvement projects.
- Other duties as delegated by nurse manager, provider, or health center administrator.
- Maintain clinical environment to meet JCAHO and OSHA regulations.
- Attend practice/staff meetings and in-services.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Job Eligibility Requirements:
- Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date. Those currently in place will be "grandfathered" but enrollment in a BSN program is highly encouraged.
- NC RN license is required. If candidate has another compact state RN license, NC state licensure must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- ACLS upon completion of orientation.
Job Hours: The schedule for this position is 7:30a-6p, 4x10hr shifts, and 1 Saturday q4 weeks and no holidays.
