Overview
Pharmacists work with other healthcare providers to optimize medication regimens using evidence-based medicine and standards of care. The pharmacist will rotate through central operations and decentralized coverage on days and evenings. The pharmacist will provide services that maximize the hospital’s ability to meet national indicators with a focus on the admission process. Other responsibilities include:
- Providing educational in-services
- Developing policies and/or processes to improve departmental operations
- Participation in at least one departmental or hospital committee
- Serving as student and/or resident preceptor
Approximate breakdown of job responsibilities include: direct patient care (40%), order verification/distribution (40%), education (15%), and administration (5%). Other requirements include: BLS and ACLS certification and publications.
Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NH NHRMC) is looking for a highly skilled pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care to all age groups including the Intensive Care Units (ICUs) and Emergency Department. NH NHRMC is the 9th largest health-system in North Carolina with 800 + beds and is a comprehensive stroke and level II trauma, teaching community hospital. There are 54 intensive care unit beds, encompassing a MICU, CCU, NSICU, STICU, and CVICU. There is a Women’s and Children’s center with NICU and PICU, an inpatient rehabilitation and psychiatry unit, and an oncology center.

Credentials: Essential: Pharmacist
Education: Essential: Bachelor of Science
Other information: Experience: Applicants must have graduated from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy, have completed a PGY1 residency or equivalent (with critical care experience preferred), and be eligible for North Carolina licensure. Board Certification is encouraged.
