POSITION: QA Analyst - Specialty Mental Health Compliance & Billing Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Quality Assurance-Contra Costa and Assigned Program(s)
HOURLY RATE: $30.30 per hour
SCHEDULE: 24 hours per week; in-person during onboarding/training, then hybrid schedule with remote and in-person expectations (Wed, Thurs and flexibility on 3rd day)
START DATE: Dec
END DATE: mid-March
POSITION SUMMARY: The QA Analyst reports to the QA Manager or Supervisor and is responsible for all on-going activities related to the maintenance of and adherence to systems, processes, policies and procedures for all quality assurance activities related to program services and Medi-Cal billing and compliance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Monitors case records for compliance with regulatory, statutory, and contracting requirements and standards (Medi-Cal, school district, Mental Health, etc.) including filing paper documentation in charts.
- Participates in the clinical record audit processes, which ensures that documentation, authorizations, and consents are current and accurate.
- Responsible for data entry into the internal data collection systems and county billing systems.
- Orient all new staff to the client database and QA procedures and processes.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: A responsive, dependable, team-oriented professional with a positive customer service approach is required for this position. This individual thrives in a fast-paced environment, with strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Must demonstrate an ability to meet competing deadlines and enter information quickly and accurately. Successful individuals type 60-70 WPM plus have 10-key skills with an accuracy for both and has a score of 85% or higher. Must be detail-oriented, able to maintain a high level of confidentiality, and have good oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated awareness of, sensitivity to, and competence in dealing with cultural and socioeconomic diversity of the Agency staff and client populations is essential. In addition, the ideal candidate enjoys troubleshooting, views challenges as growth opportunities and mentoring others in quality assurance activities.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- BA/BS degree or experience in lieu of degree preferred.
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office with focus on EXCEL) and database use/management.
- Experience performing Medi-Cal (or private insurance) billing functions.
- Experience performing quality assurance functions.
- Must meet eligibility requirements to claim Medi-Cal services.
