Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Per Diem/Cancer Center. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing medically prescribed nuclear medicine procedures under general direction.
Job Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates knowledge of the organization’s Service Standards and incorporates them into the performance of duties.
- Operates hospital and radiology information systems as they relate to nuclear medicine, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Effectively assesses patient information and status and follows appropriate procedures accordingly.
- Independently implements patient procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.
- Verifies label on radiopharmaceutical vial and calculates activity needed for procedures.
- Assists physicians as needed during the course of the procedure.
- Independently implements non-imaging procedures in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Prepares doses and standards properly by quantitating exact dose activity.
- Disposes of radioactive waste according to department policies and procedures.
- Performs routine imaging system evaluations on all scintillation cameras.
- Maintains all required records pertinent to all quality control procedures performed.
- Executes equipment set up, utilization, and proper maintenance procedure.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have an Associate's Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related health field for all employees hired after August 1, 2016. For new Graduates, a Nuclear Medicine permit issued by NYS Department of Health, New York State license in Nuclear Medicine, and American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certification is required. Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and basic computer skills including Microsoft Office are essential.
Required Licenses: Nuc Med Technologist License, Nuclear Med Tech Cert (NMTCB), Am Registry Of Radiologic Tech.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in nuclear medicine technology.

The salary range for the role is $55.00 - $55.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
