Job Summary
Position Purpose
The Surgical Technician shall be responsible for preparing the operating rooms for surgery using appropriate techniques, providing technical services, and performing in the operating room as assigned and directed. Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, assists with rendering surgical nursing care of patients of all ages throughout the surgical experience. Assists nurse manager in areas delegated. Facilitates schedule with the OR and CS to provide efficient flow and completion of surgery schedule. Represents the department in all aspects of customer service.
Position Qualifications
Licenses/Certificates:
- Certificate of graduation from an accredited School of Surgical Technology or military equivalent.
- Current CPR certification.
- CST preferred.
Working Conditions:
May be exposed to blood borne pathogens, communicable diseases, x-ray/electromagnetic energy, toxic/caustic chemicals or detergents, moving mechanical parts, varied temperature conditions, potential electrical shock, and/or gaseous fumes.
