As RN Nurse Consultant, you will provide guidance and support to administrators of a disability plan. You will review medical information and compare it against guidelines, provide recommendations related to compliance, as well as time frames for disability and return to work. You may review policies and procedures of the plan for recommendations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Offer consultation services based on the Disability Plan
- Provide assessment, planning, and evaluation of an individual’s progress
- Evaluate treatment plans for appropriateness and medical necessity
- Provide recommendations to the plan administrator based on the plan
- Compare information against nationally recognized guidelines
- Provide advice on clinical practices, patient care, disability, and return to work time frames to the plan administrator
- Compare medical records and assist with preparation and coordination of second opinions
- Other duties as assigned/needed
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Effective communication and multi-tasking in a high-volume, fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Experience as an RN, Disability Consultant
- Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office, including Excel spreadsheets
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current RN Licensure
- Prior experience in Disability Consultation is preferred
- Certification as a CIRS certification is preferred
PAY RANGE:
CorVel uses a market-based approach to pay, and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.
For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.), new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during the interview process, taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range, and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.
Pay Range: $74,421 – $96,662
