Company Overview: Pet Urgent Care is an appointment-based urgent care clinic in the Spokane, Washington area, currently open 6 days a week. We are committed to providing exceptional care to our patients and clients while prioritizing employee well-being and fostering a supportive work environment. Our facility is closely associated with the Pet Emergency Clinic and Referral Center (located just 1 block away) for convenient referral to Emergency/Critical Care as needed and radiology services via Inland Empire Veterinary Imaging (located in the Pet Emergency Clinic and Referral Center building).
Position Summary: We are seeking a self-motivated and compassionate veterinarian to join our team. In this role, you will diagnose, treat, and provide high-quality care to your canine and feline patients. Compassionate and thorough client communication is also vital. The ideal candidate should thrive in a busy environment, exhibiting optimism and resilience while collaborating closely with support staff and other veterinarians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide immediate and comprehensive care to animals experiencing urgent health issues.
- Conduct thorough examinations, utilize diagnostic capabilities, and develop effective treatment plans for a wide variety of cases.
- Collaborate effectively with veterinary technicians and assistants to ensure complete and timely patient care.
- Educate pet owners on illnesses, treatment options, and home care to improve the well-being of pets.
- Mentor and train support staff, providing guidance to enhance their skills and foster professional development.
- Maintain all medical records and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
- Work collaboratively with the veterinary team at Pet Emergency Clinic and Referral Center ER to manage complex cases and coordinate comprehensive care.
- Foster a positive work culture, prioritizing teamwork, morale, and job satisfaction among colleagues.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an accredited veterinary school.
- Active and unrestricted veterinary license in Washington State or eligibility to obtain.
- Strong diagnostic skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating compassion and empathy towards pets and their owners.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Commitment to continued education and professional growth, with an openness to coaching and training others.
