*Job Description*
The Physician Assistant will assist in the overall management of patient care, both in the office/clinic and hospital settings. The Physician Assistant will collaborate with all members of the patient care team.
*Responsibilities include:*
* Must have a minimum of 3 years First Assist experience. Urology and/or Plastic Surgery preferred.
* Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning pre and post-operative health, treatment options and community resources in both the hospital (rounding) and out-patient (clinic) settings.
* Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies.
* Provides telephone and/or email consultations with patients to answer questions regarding pre-operative concerns, post-operative care and general clinical questions, during normal office hours and as a part of the “on-call” schedule as determined by the practice.
* Must be proficient with Mac/Apple products.
* Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
* Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
* Ability to speak, read and write Spanish preferred.
*Education and Licensing Requirements:*
* Current PA license – eligible for licensure in CA, CO and TX
* Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
* Current certification from NCCPA.
* Prescription authority and DEA number
*Compensation:* $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 base
