Worley is building a pipeline of talent for future projects and invites expressions of interest for this role that will become available contingent upon contract awards. These opportunities are expected to become available in between October and November 2024.
Description:
Our business is growing, and we need additional experienced people to join our team! The successful candidate will be planning, coordinating and managing the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of assigned large capital projects. Additionally, he/she will ensure clear agreement of client objectives, and these objectives are met or exceeded and provide strong HSE leadership.
Purpose:
Directs and manages study projects to ensure they meet contractual obligations, defining goals and developing methods to achieve them. Oversees project execution according to Worley's policies and procedures, managing project personnel through subordinate leaders. Handles high-risk projects, visualizes, and designs technical concepts, and leads organizational change. Manages operations, develops and implements policies, evaluates systems, and prepares reports. Focuses on delivering value to Worley MMM clients through early-phase project development and enhances study management capabilities to support growth strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and develop tactical plans to achieve organizational goals and innovate project concepts.
- Leverage broad functional knowledge to manage and lead effective organizational changes.
- Manage front-end studies for key mining projects, aligning with MMM strategy and enhancing delivery capabilities.
- Oversee best practice study management processes within the Worley MMM sector.
- Review and enhance the quality of study deliverables from project teams.
- Develop and execute strategies and plans for mining study proposals.
- Contribute to the evolution of the MMM sector strategy with recommendations.
- Engage in thought leadership to advance the mining sector.
- Govern complex studies, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
- Participate in business development activities to improve study execution and project transitions.
- Optimize processes to improve productivity, quality, and safety standards.
- Participate in projects from studies of OoM, Conceptual, Prefeasibility, Feasibility, ensuring the budget and schedule adherence.
- Liaise with clients, technology providers, and regulators to meet project objectives.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and industry regulations.
- Mentor Engineering team in technical skills, safety practices, and operational efficiency.
- Drive innovation through research and implementation of new technologies.
- Develop risk management strategies to mitigate operational risks effectively.
Experience (required):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years' Mining, Minerals & Metals industry experience managing study projects required.
- 8+ years ESP (Engineering Service Products) experience required.
- Experience in Front End Studies & Advisory, Concept/Select, Consulting, PFS, FS, and NI 43-101 and SK-1300 reporting.
- Mining projects background, preferably including experience in base metals, precious metals, and energy transition minerals.
Preferred Experience:
- Strategic pursuit and proposal development.
- Proposal write-up including technical, value proposition and vision objectives.
- Envision engineering and project execution methodologies.
- Technical and business presentations to clients.
- Mining regulatory/MSHA certification and experience.
