Progressive Veterinary Services is a leading provider of comprehensive and advanced veterinary care for animals. We perform many soft tissue as well as orthopedic surgical procedures including ACL repairs and Luxating patella repairs. We also do dental cleaning and other dental procedures. Our clinic provides use of new technology such as in-clinic blood analyzers, surgical and therapy lasers, digital X-rays, and digital dental X-rays.
Position Purpose:
Progressive Veterinary Services in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, is looking to add another experienced veterinarian to our team! Our practice currently consists of 2 full-time DVMs and multiple technicians and assistants for a solid doctor-to-tech ratio. Our doctors utilize our CVTs and assistants for technician appointments, surgery/anesthesia monitoring, client communications, lab analysis, and more, ensuring they are never without a hand and can always manage their time as needed. We see dogs, cats, and the occasional pocket pet from an expansive long-term client base!
We are looking for a collaborative, compassionate, and ambitious DVM with experience to take extra special care of our continually expanding clientele. Do you have an interest in surgery? Our strong surgical caseload includes soft tissue surgery, orthopedics, GI surgery, cystotomies, and many dental procedures.
We want to make sure we are investing whatever is needed into the future of our practice. For that reason, we are offering a $100,000 sign-on bonus for the right candidate!

Essential Responsibilities:
- Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
- Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
- Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
- Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
- Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
- Maintain patients’ medical records.
- Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
- Appropriate state licensure.
- Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
