Department Description: Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) is a nationally recognized and award-winning public healthcare system. The Harvard-affiliated CHA Department of Psychiatry is recognized as a leader in patient care, teaching and research. As a leader in behavioral health, CHA's psychiatry teams provide compassionate care to our diverse patient population. CHA consists of an established network of ambulatory clinics, an urgent care site, and two full-service hospitals based in Cambridge-Somerville, and Boston's metro-north communities.
Summary: We are seeking part-time, licensed Clinical Social Workers to join Child and Adolescent Outpatient Psychiatry. The department is composed of multidisciplinary teams dedicated to the delivery of the best possible care to our diverse patient population. We are seeking candidates with strong diagnostic and short-term psychotherapy skills, with expertise in empirically-supported treatments such as DBT, CBT, Behavioral Activation, A-CRA, trauma-informed care, and Motivational Interviewing. Clinical Social Workers within the Outpatient Department of Psychiatry are vital members of our multidisciplinary treatment teams. In collaboration with their teams, they provide psychotherapy to children and families who can derive maximum benefit from outpatient care across the spectrum of programs offered within the department. The diversity of the client population served, in addition to the treatment modalities utilized, requires interdisciplinary expertise and collaboration. As a teaching hospital, members of our clinical teams will have an opportunity to teach and supervise trainees, and participate in developing best models of care to treat our patient population. Portuguese, Spanish, or Haitian Kreyol linguistic skill would be a plus. This position will be located in the CHA Child and Adolescent Outpatient Psychiatry Department, in the specialty Neurodevelopmental Clinic, and is focused on ambulatory service that assesses, stabilizes, and provides treatment to patients from our primary care providers and community. This position would support the evaluation, treatment and aftercare planning and coordination for patients and families.
