Position Summary
Performs diagnostic tests to help physicians diagnose and treat cardiac conditions.
Responsibilities
- Performs electrocardiograms according to established policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates sound technical skills in operating all equipment and in obtaining optimal test results.
- Provides data for diagnosis of cardiovascular disorders.
- Prepares and maintains treatment rooms and equipment, keeping the rooms stocked and clean.
- Performs a variety of tasks.
- Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.
- Competent to meet age-specific needs of the unit assigned.
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Demonstrated ability to read cardiac arrhythmias.
- Successful completion of Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation course within six months of hire required.
- Previous patient care experience required.
- BLS required.
Working Conditions
- Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position.
- Typical equipment used in a clinical job.
- Must be able to stoop, crouch, or bend.
- Must be able to assist in patient transfer.
- Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 35lbs.
