At Children's Colorado, all echocardiograms are performed by sonographers specifically trained in pediatrics which supports our high standard of care for all of our patients. The Cardiac Sonographer performs clinical echocardiographic studies for congenital heart disease on patients ranging from neonatal to adult. As a leader in pediatric heart care, our Institute is the largest in the region, treating more than 20,000 patients each year.
Hourly Salary: $36 - $66.58/hour or Annual Salary Range $74,467 to $138,486 (Based on hours worked per week and years of experience)
Eligible Incentives: Relocation Assistance for candidates moving more than 100 miles.

Qualifications:
Education:High School Diploma or GED
Experience:One year of relevant experience
Equivalency:Completion of a two-year college program with emphasis on imaging modalities or other associated medical program; American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) registration required.
Certification(s):
- Pediatric Registry required within one year upon hire;
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS);
- Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) or
- Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI);
- BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire
Job Highlights:
Performs clinical echocardiographic (echo) studies, newborns to adults, for congenital heart disease with a moderate degree of difficulty or complexity requiring knowledge of hemodynamics, physiology, and congenital heart disease.
Completes echocardiography studies strictly following departmental sequence and protocol.
Completes Doppler studies and obtains appropriate color flow and spectral analysis Doppler data including advanced analysis of hemodynamics.
Prepares accurate preliminary summaries of the echocardiography findings for cardiologist interpretation providing documentation of observed echo findings; reviews completed studies with cardiologist
Maintains clean and safe practices, procedures, equipment, and workspace in order to contribute to a healthy patient care environment.
Performs routine transthoracic echocardiograms on pediatric patients in the network of care and regional sites as needed; and assists with scheduling conflicts, changes, cancellations and workflow issues.
