OhioGuidestone is currently seeking a full-time CNP to provide services for our outpatient Psychiatry division. The ideal candidates must have an active license issued by the state of Ohio, two years of relevant experience and DEA number with Buprenorphine waiver. Master's degree and experience in psychiatric, mental health, substance use treatment, as well as experience working with youth preferred.
SUMMARY
The Nurse Practitioner works under the supervision of the Medical Director and the Executive Administrator and is responsible for diagnosing, treating and monitoring the physical health of persons served, providing medical/somatic services, pharmacologic management services, case management, witnessing urine screens and monitoring of OARRS reports as clinically indicated, communicating with other health care practitioners regarding client’s health status and providing consultation to other staff regarding health care issues.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Required:
- Minimum education and licensure as a Certified Nurse Practitioner – board certified (PMHNP required)
- Participation in further medical education
- DEA number with waiver, per area of expertise
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
Preferred:
- Three years of relevant experience
- Experience in behavioral health care
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete psychiatric assessment and evaluation of clients and provide services both in person and via tele-psych.
- Deliver individual psychotherapy during E&M visits as appropriate.
- Evaluate clients through conversations, interviews and observations.
- Administer client tests or request testing and lab work; analyze patient data and results.
- Diagnose clients with psychological, emotional or behavioral disorders.
- Review assessments and provider orders with provider’s psychotherapy services.
- Collaborate with client’s providers and other medical staff to determine treatment.
- Set patient goals and discuss treatment plans, including medication management.
- Establish timelines, tasks and medical needs of clients.
- Document client records, labs, medical records and OARRS within agency designated standards.
- Educate clients, client families, significant others and relevant parties of patient progress, treatment and future goals.
- Utilize the EHR as required for documentation and prescriptions and monitor patient intake of prescriptions.
- Review and approve individualized service plans and other needed assessment forms.
- Maintain DEA list for SAMHSA waiver agreements if so credentialed.
- Consult with individual program directors and staff regarding clients, programs and services at various sites.
