Summary: Maintain cardiopulmonary services in accordance with Departmental Director, Federal, State and local standards. Maintaining standards in accordance with the accreditation of Joint Commission of Health Care Organization.
Responsibilities:
- Serve physicians, patients, and their families with courtesy and excellent communication skills.
- Schedule and assign staff to daily activities to regulate patient flow productively.
- Exhibit knowledge regarding the needs of neonatal, adolescent, pediatric, adult, and/or geriatric patients.
- Promote a positive attitude at all times.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Certificate of completion from an American Medical Association accredited Respiratory Therapy Program eligible for admission to the CRT and/or RRT examination of the National Board for Respiratory Care.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Competency in various modalities within the CPS department.
- Experience as a specialist or working group leader.
- Demonstrates leadership and teaching abilities.
- Experience maintaining and working with budgets.
- Minimum of 2 years of Supervisory/leadership experience in a hospital-type Respiratory Care setting.
LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Must be licensed by the state of North Carolina as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:
- Certified in CPR.
- Good communication skills to interact with patients, employees, team members, and physicians.
- Demonstrates good leadership and the ability to handle stressful situations properly.
- Commitment to continuing professional development.
- Good computer skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases, blood-borne and airborne pathogens requiring the use of personal protective equipment.
- Exposure to cleaning agents, chemicals, and some toxic chemicals requires the use of personal protection equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- May require walking and standing throughout the shift.
- Lifting, pulling, and pushing of patients may be required, as well as carrying, pushing, and/or pulling equipment during the shift.
