Alabama Clinical Schools, a subsidiary of UHS, has a rich history of providing excellent behavioral health services in the Birmingham area for over 20 years. Our effective treatment services include intensive residential treatment for males ages 9-18 as well as therapeutic foster care for males and females of all ages. We are proud to offer our unique, effective program options for boys, RISE and Specialized Therapeutic Foster Care, which are the only programs of their kind in the State of Alabama. Director of Clinical Services:
Position Summary
The Director of Clinical Services provides direct supervision to all Clinical Services staff. Oversees the development and implementation of the clinical programs across the continuum of care; develops and revises program descriptions, patient/parent handbooks and oversees the clinical services provided in foster care. Reviews policies and procedures and makes recommendations to senior leadership for change. As a member of the management team, the Director of Clinical Services assists in the achievement of organizational objectives regarding patient care, attainment of operational and financial goals and participates in the promotion of services within the community.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in mental health field required.
- Experience: Five (5) years clinical and supervisory experience with child and adolescent populations in a residential care setting required. Experience in Foster Care services required.
- License/Certification: Current licensure in the state of Alabama required.
- Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to maintain effective working relationships, inter-departmentally, intra-departmentally, and with the clinical staff. Demonstrates the ability to organize, delegate and role model manage the Clinical Services Team. Must have ability to communicate in both oral and written form and in a clean and concise manner.
- Physical Requirements: Work is mentally demanding. Moderate walking, standing, and sitting. Must be able to safely engage in physical interventions.
- Other: Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Executive Officer or the Medical Director.
