Job Description
The Financial Services Group of Crum & Forster (C&F) is looking for a IFRS 17 Risk Integrity Specialist, with some exposure to accounting and the insurance industry, to join the IFRS 17 Reporting Group. The candidate will be a key team member of a group specializing on the new accounting standard - IFRS 17 Insurance Contracts. The individual will be responsible for Risk Integrity, a cloud-based software for IFRS 17 calculation as well as Risk Integrity User Interface (“RIUI”). The candidate will collaborate closely with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure the completeness and accuracy of IFRS 17 reporting based on the instructions received from Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited, our parent company (“FFH”). The Risk Integrity Specialist should be proactive, a quick learner, a team player, be able to handle a fast-paced environment, take responsibility for work and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
LOCATION: Morristown New Jersey or Remote; we currently have a flexible office/remote working arrangement. Some work in the office is anticipated.
What you will do:
We are seeking a highly skilled IFRS 17 Risk Integrity Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting under the IFRS 17 framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Moody’s Risk Integrity and RIUI (“Risk Integrity User Interface”) including the completeness and accuracy of inputs/output files.
- Take ownership of projects as assigned to meet senior management requirements.
- Run Risk Integrity during the quarter close in a timely manner and trouble shoot any Risk Integrity issues that arise in a timely manner.
- Accountable for Risk Integrity input files, including source data, Data Dictionary (e.g. terminologies, variables, runs), as well as Risk and Issue Logs and Defect Logs.
- Knowledgeable in utilizing Risk Integrity for various valuation models, such as the Premium Allocation Approach and the General Measurement Model.
- Keep current with Risk Integrity version upgrades and monthly patches by participating in Moody’s Risk Integrity training and reviewing release documents.
- Conduct regression testing as needed and document the outcomes. Collaborate with the Finance IT team to implement necessary changes to RIUI and API to align with version updates.
- Collaborate with the Fairfax Project Manager, and perform regression testing as needed.
- Evaluate design of automated controls in accordance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, actuarial, and IT to ensure accounting treatment is being adhered to for all accounting guidelines within the IFRS 17 standard, as well as instructions given by FFH. Participate in initiatives to enhance processes and identify areas of improvement to promote efficiency and accuracy.
- Working with IT teams to integrate Risk Integrity with other financial systems and tools for streamlined operations.

- Intermediate skills in Excel, Word and Outlook (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table, Power BI, SUMIF preferred).
- Some exposure and knowledge of general ledger software is a plus.
- Some exposure and knowledge of SQL is a plus.
- Some exposure and knowledge of Python is a plus.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, dynamic and changing environment.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
- Track-record of professionalism and integrity.
Education/Experience:
- Strong Property and Casualty Insurance Knowledge is preferred.
- Professional certification and insurance designations is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, actuarial science, data science or a related field.

Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $65,000.00 to a maximum of $90,000.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
