JOB SUMMARY
The Surgical Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant provides patient services under the supervision of a licensed physician, according to Nurse Practitioner /Physician Assistant Protocol, and within the scope of the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant License in the State of Wisconsin. The Surgical Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant ensures continuity between clinical practice and standards of care as well as promotes and aids in patient preparation for discharge. This individual works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other health care disciplines utilizing a team approach to healthcare.
In this role, you will assist with a busy Urology practice alongside two physicians and a Physician Assistant. This position will see patients in clinic as well as assist in the OR. Call will be a part of this role at a rotation of 1:7 and will include all surgery specialties.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Master's Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant.
Preferred/Optional: None
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: None
Preferred/Optional: One to two years' nursing experience in specialty.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: Current State of Wisconsin Nurse License or Nurse Compact License, and Nurse Practitioner Licensure. Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire. Additional department-specific certifications, licenses, or memberships may be required (varies by department/location).
Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
