Job Description
The Traveling Provider is a platform-wide position that encompasses our centers in Baltimore, Baltimore County, Harford County, Anne Arundel County, and the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Candidates must be flexible from month to month. UM Urgent Care providers are the leaders of our urgent care facilities, providing excellent care to our patients, creating signature patient experiences, and working as a close-knit team with medical assistants and x-ray technologists. We care for patients from one year of age and older, providing a diverse array of services from treating upper respiratory infections, sprains and strains, and applying sutures, to employee health physicals, work-related injuries, and preoperative exams.
Full-time providers work twelve-hour clinical shifts from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and do 3 to 4 shifts per week (12-14 shifts/month). Urgent Care is a fast-paced environment with diverse patient types; illness and injury presentations.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be a licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in good standing in the state of Maryland (candidates may have a license pending approval) and have an NPI number, DEA, and CDS (or be in the process of receiving those items). Additionally, having some experience as a provider, nurse, or tech in the fields of urgent care, intensive care, emergency medicine, or primary care is very helpful. It is required that candidates have a proactive, growth-focused mindset, are passionate about providing high-quality care to their patients, are intellectually curious, and are open to constructive feedback.
Additional Information
We provide side-by-side clinical training shifts at the onset of employment to ensure new providers have the hands-on procedure skills, basic clinical knowledge, and electronic health records fluency necessary to be successful. We also provide support for our providers with constant APP and physician leadership available telephonically for all operating hours.
