What's Available:
- 1.0 FTE (40 hours/week)
- Shift: Monday - Friday, 8 hour shifts between the hours of 7:30am-4:30 pm
- Rotating call coverage on Friday 4pm to Monday 7:30am, once every 4 weeks
- Onsite position
- Work location: La Crosse, WI main campus
What you will do:
- Perform and/or assist physician with EEG, EP, NCS, and/or EMG procedures ensuring accurate and efficient neurodiagnostic evaluation.
- Obtain a thorough patient history.
- Provide patient education and overall support/comfort during testing procedures.
- Responsible for outreach coverage as needed by the department representing Gundersen Health System in a respectful, efficient manner.
- Other duties as assigned.

What you need:
- Post High School education in a specialized field: Graduate of an Electroneurodiagnostic or Polysomnographic program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
- Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist (REEGT) within 2.5 years of hire date.
- Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (with hands-on learning) from one of the following programs; American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Job Description:
The Neurodiagnostic Technician prepares patients and may perform one or more of the following neurodiagnostic studies as ordered by a physician: Electroencephalograms (EEG's), Evoked Potentials (EP), Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS), and assist the physician with Electromyograms (EMG).
Major Responsibilities:
- Perform and/or assist physician with EEG, EP, NCS, and/or EMG procedures ensuring accurate and efficient neurodiagnostic evaluation.
- Obtain a thorough patient history.
- Provide patient education and overall support/comfort during testing procedures.
- Responsible for outreach coverage as needed by the department representing Gundersen Health System in a respectful, efficient manner.
- Work with multidisciplinary healthcare team to facilitate services, provide consultation/education, and generate/print accurate reports for the physicians.
- Responsible for knowledge and application of skills related to pattern recognition, various medical and pharmacological conditions, and electrical safety.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate department documentation.
- Responsible for archiving patient testing and maintaining accurate documentation of archived material and patient schedules.
- Responsible for achieving and maintaining competency of the departmental American Board of Registered Electroencephalogram and Evoked Potential Technologist (ABRET) accreditation education standard and any mandated organizational employee education.
- Adhere to regular and predictable attendance.
- Personally interact, engage with and care for patients.
- Ensure patient safety.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Education and Learning:
REQUIRED
Post High School education in a specialized field: Graduate of an Electroneurodiagnostic or Polysomnographic program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
Work Experience:
DESIRED
6 months experience as an Electroneurodiagnostic Technician or Electrodiagnostic Technician.
License and Certifications:
REQUIRED
Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist (REEGT) within 2.5 years of hire date or Registered Electrodiagnostic Technologist (REDT) within 2.5 years of hire date or Certified Nerve Conduction Technologist (CNCT) within 2.5 years of hire date.
Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (with hands-on learning) from one of the following programs; American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
