Rivkin Radler LLP is seeking a Litigation Support Clinical Nurse Reviewer for their Uniondale, Long Island office to provide medical review support to our General Liability, Automotive Liability, Medical Malpractice and No-Fault Litigation practices. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Review various types of electronic and handwritten medical records for relevance and completeness
- Prepare medical chronologies and timelines of care and treatment
- Research medical literature for specific diseases, current treatments and guidelines
- Review medical cases to identify strengths and weaknesses through analysis of care and knowledge of expected outcomes
- Serve as a medical resource for paralegals and attorneys by explaining complex medical issues to a non-medical audience
- Collaborate with the Legal Nurse Consultant and litigation paralegals on issues pertinent to support to attorneys
Requirements:
- Ability to critically review information, such as medical records, laboratory and imaging results and interpret billing information (ICD 10, CPT etc)
- Possess a minimum of five (5) years fulltime registered nursing experience in acute care areas of adult Trauma (Orthopedics/Neurosurgery), Emergency Medicine, Surgical Critical Care or quality case review/risk management.
- Possess excellent writing ,computer and communication skills
- Board certification as a Legal Nurse Consultant Certified (LNCC) within twenty-four (24) months of hire is desirable.
Hybrid Hours:
Monday-Friday, 9am – 5pm , with the flexibility to work
overtime when needed
Minimum 3 days a week in office
2 days a week remotely
Congenial fast-paced environment, we offer competitive salary andbenefits. EOE. The annualized salary range for this position is $75,000 to $105,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law .
