The Clinical Trials Coordinator will work collectively within the Department of Surgery clinical/research teams to ensure that all aspects of patient management are executed both timely and accurately. Incumbent must be comfortable working independently, managing interactions with and between team members, both internally and externally; ensuring that all NIH grant funded, industry-sponsored or investigator-driven studies/trials are managed to the highest quality to ensure safety and effectiveness. The incumbent will promote improved access for patients to clinical trials, and facilitate research activities throughout LSUHSC-affiliated clinics and programs as assigned. The incumbent will also prepare and edit clinical study protocols and scientific documents.

Required Education: Bachelor's
Discipline(s): Physical Sciences (biology, chemistry, physics, etc), Healthcare / Public Health or related field
Certifications/Licenses Required: Clinical Trial Coordinator 2 or 3: CCRC/CCRP
Minimum Years Required: Clinical Trials Coordinator 1 - 1 year; Clinical Trials Coordinator 2 - 3 years; Clinical Trials Coordinator 3 - 5 years
Type of Experience Required: Research or clinical experience in a hospital/clinic/academic setting
Substitution for Required Education or Experience: At the CTC 1 or 2 level, an LPN and 2 additional years may substitute for the Bachelor's. At ANY LEVEL, a Master's can substitute for one year of experience. At the CTC 2 or 3 level, one additional year of Clinical Trials experience may substitute for the CCRC/CCRP at the department’s discretion.
