Position: CT Technologist
Shift Schedule: Swing shifts, graveyard

Job Summary:
The CT Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures using computed tomography (CT) equipment to capture high-quality images of patients' internal structures. The role involves interacting with patients, positioning them correctly, administering contrast agents when needed, and ensuring accurate image acquisition for the radiologist to interpret. The CT Tech ensures safety, maintains equipment, and follows protocols while providing compassionate care to patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform CT Scans: Operate CT equipment to produce images of various anatomical structures, ensuring optimal image quality and clarity for diagnostic interpretation.
- Patient Care: Greet and prepare patients for procedures by explaining the CT process, positioning patients correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safety during the scan.
- Administer Contrast: Prepare and administer IV contrast agents as per protocol, monitor patient reactions, and take necessary actions in case of adverse effects.
- Image Review and Transfer: Verify the quality of CT images, ensuring all necessary views are captured. Transfer images to the PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) for interpretation by the radiologist.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular checks and preventive maintenance on CT equipment. Report any malfunctions or required repairs to the appropriate personnel.
- Radiation Safety: Ensure radiation protection protocols are strictly followed for patients, staff, and self, maintaining compliance with safety standards.
- Patient Documentation: Accurately document patient information, procedures performed, and any relevant details in the patient’s medical record.
- Collaboration: Work closely with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards (e.g., Joint Commission, HIPAA).
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
- Certification: ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography (ARRT-R) and Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT).
- Licensure: Valid state license for Radiologic Technology (if required by state).
- BLS/CPR Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a CT Tech is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in operating CT scanners and associated software.
- Knowledge of anatomy, radiographic positioning, and the principles of radiation physics.
- Strong patient communication and care skills, with an emphasis on patient safety and comfort.
- Attention to detail with the ability to follow strict protocols and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle stressful situations calmly.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a hospital or imaging center environment.
- Requires standing for long periods, moving patients, and handling medical equipment.
- Potential exposure to radiation, infectious diseases, and bloodborne pathogens.
Shift/Hours:
- Full-time, part-time, and per-diem positions available.
- May require day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
