JOB SUMMARY:
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 / Per Hour
The Case Manager position provides direct service to participants in grades 6-12 in the Girls Resolution and Prevention (RAP) program. This position delivers individualized case management and group support/activities for girls who are involved, or at risk of being involved, with the juvenile justice system. RAP programming promotes the healthy development of girls in a safe and supportive environment.
HOURS:
- Monday – Friday 10 am – 6 pm; some evenings required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Implement comprehensive programming:
- Provide 1:1 case management to youth enrolled in Girls RAP groups
- Engage with youth outside of programming to ensure goal achievement
- Create, plan, and facilitate empowerment curriculum via youth group sessions
- Support communication with youth, families, and partners
- Create and maintain a safe growth environment that is youth-centered, mission-focused and accessible to a diverse demographic
- Support other Girls & Youth programs as necessary
Administration:
- Collect intake paperwork and program surveys
- Case note interactions with youth to document goal progress
- Complete data entry weekly (daily as needed) in Apricot and Concur
- Deliver and obtain program evaluation information from participants for program quality assurance and reporting purposes (G&Y and EHDI surveys)
- Complete monthly progress reports to share with the referring agency
RELATIONSHIPS:
- This position reports to the RAP Manager who reports to the Girls & Youth Operations Director. The incumbent will interact with Girls and Youth staff, partner school districts, and community organization contacts. Critical relationships will include program youth and families.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience providing direct support to youth
- One year of case management/goal planning experience
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills
- Collaborative and innovative work style
- Ability to carry out duties independently, as well as in a team setting
- Ability to work with a variety of cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions while using good judgment
- Alignment with and commitment to the YWCA mission
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral/social sciences
- Experience working within the juvenile justice and/or foster care system
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- The ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to travel to various YWCA Minneapolis, partner schools, and community sites; mileage is reimbursed
- Work site is Downtown Minneapolis; staff are responsible for parking costs
