Job Overview & Responsibilities
As the world’s premiere launch provider, United Launch Alliance is looking for a Director of Legislative Affairs to join our small, passionate team of accomplished experts. Responsibilities include:
- Support the Vice President of Government Operations & Strategic Communications as the lead on Federal legislative issues, with a strong focus on defense and national security.
- Build and cultivate relationships with key Congressional Offices & Committees to support company priorities.
- Manage coordination and interface with key legislative consultants, advocacy groups, think tanks, foundations, and associations.
- Lead and manage the DC legislative team.
We are seeking a dynamic, engaged, professional to serve as a valuable contributor toward our legislative and regulatory goals. This position will be based out of our Arlington, VA location.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Required Years of Experience
Minimum of 10 years of related work experience.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience with a relevant Congressional office or Committee.
- Customer relationship management experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.
- Extraordinarily high judgment, energy, creativity, and standards for yourself and others.
- Ability to assemble briefings and read-ahead material for ULA and member company leadership on agency actions and budget requests.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of ULA’s product line and product evolution.
- Familiarity with the US space launch procurement process.
