Family Health Centers at NYU Langone, a designated Level 3 Medical Home, is the largest federally qualified health center network in New York State, and the second largest in the nation. Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Early Childhood Specialist - M-F - 8a - 4p, 9a - 5p or 10a - 6p (varies) (Masters required). In this role, the successful candidate will support the Family Health Centers at NYU Langone's mission to improve the health of underserved communities by delivering high-quality, culturally competent health care and human services. Recognizing that health depends upon an individual's economic, educational and employment status, FHC's Department of Community-Based Programs offers an extensive continuum of family strengthening and community development programs. The Sunset Park Family Child Care Network provides subsidized childcare slots, support, and monitoring to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to children and families. The primary role of the Education Director is to oversee all of the Network educational services for families and affiliated providers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee all educational services in affiliated Family Child Care (FCC) settings.
- Support the FCC Network Director in all recruitment, enrollment, payment, and other administrative tasks.
- Co-facilitate twice monthly Network staff meetings to connect about individual providers, families, and coordinate all services.
- Participate in Network staff professional learning sessions.
- Coordinate and implement all required professional learning days in partnership with the Department of Education for all affiliated providers and education staff.
- Create, review, and adapt appropriate curriculum supports that foster hands-on developmentally appropriate and relationship-based interactions with all children.
- Ensure the implementation of strength-based coaching visits to all affiliated providers.
- Develop, adapt, and provide guidance on the implementation of an evidence-based curriculum for mixed-age group settings.
- Oversee and ensure the timely documentation of all coaching sessions and affiliated provider home visits.
- Ensure education staff have the knowledge to assist affiliated providers in entering child assessment data.
- Provide reflective supervision for Educational Specialists to ensure a strength-based approach.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a MSED in Early Childhood Education (required) and teacher certification in the early childhood or childhood grades (required).
Required Licenses: Teacher Certificate-NYS
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in family child care and/or with infants and toddlers. Willingness to travel within FCC Network catchment area. Time management skills are essential. Ability to multitask. Must be a team player. Appreciation for the unique needs of the family child care community. Knowledge of the Sunset Park community. Interest in and awareness of working with culturally and economically diverse communities. A willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

The salary range for the role is $66,415.19 - $72,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
