Job Description:
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the care of patients undergoing anesthesia including: preparation of anesthesia equipment prior to the patient’s arrival, placement of anesthesia monitors, ensuring the cleanliness of anesthesia equipment, ensuring availability of specialized anesthesia equipment and supplies and the set-up of medications and supplies where applicable. Continuously communicate with anesthesiologists, residents, CRNAs and anesthesia technologists to ensure their needs are met throughout the day.
- Operate the cell-saver machine, keep track of lab reports, and participate in cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, thoracic, trauma, and other advanced surgical cases.
- Provide primary support in ensuring that the anesthesia equipment is in good working order and preventive maintenance is completed. Set up and operate sophisticated equipment and perform advanced troubleshooting. Serve as the key resource person in using and maintaining specialized equipment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- BLS
- Two years of experience as an Anesthesia Tech
QUALIFICATIONS: A four year college education, including related technical training; or a two year college education which included technical training closely related to this position and two years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
