Looking for someone to assist patients to understand recommendations given by their health care providers; performs patient care functions; answers and screens medical calls; posts patient’s information to medical records and provides support in planning continuity of treatment plus some general front and back office duties.

Qualifications
- Ability to proficiently perform all required and requested job duties of a Medical Office Assistant.
- Work effectively and efficiently with others.
- Follow oral and written directions with great morale.
- Mature judgement, discretion, and confidentiality are mandatory.
- Position requires professionalism, an uplifting personality, pleasant and effective representation of the corporation with office etiquette.
- Possess knowledge of Child Health and Disability Prevention Program (CHDP) guidelines, Immunizations Schedule and AAP periodicity table.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Pre Employment
- Must pass a drug test.
- Must be able to provide proof of the following vaccinations: COVID-19 and booster, Hepatitis B, MMR, and TDAP.
- Must provide proof of a recent TB test.
- First Aid/BLS certification required.
Education
- Diploma.
- Accredited Medical Assistance Certification is required.
- First Aid/BLS certification required.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- The Medical Assistant (MA) reports administratively to the Clinics Administrator.
- Must possess the ability to perform necessary duties under the direction of the Medical Providers and/or Registered Nurse (R.N.) in examination and treatment of patients.
- Provides clinical services such as drawing blood, giving injections, administering TB skin tests, immunization, and obtaining certain laboratory specimens specifically prescribed medication under the supervision of the medical provider and/or R.N.
- Prepares patients for doctors’ examination, positions instruments, and assists the physician.
- Gets patients' medical history and checks vital signs.
- Schedules any necessary appointments and keeps x-ray and medical records.
- Attends ongoing training in using the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH).
- Reviews patient surveys and incorporates any necessary improvement plans to reach required thresholds.
- LEAD Medical Assistants will be required to participate in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI) and Quality Measures (QM) meetings.
