Legacy Behavioral Health Services is hiring individuals with a passion for making a difference in their community! We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to work in the Lowndes Mental Health Clinic. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing psychotherapy and medication evaluation and management to a range of clients having mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse diagnosis under the supervision of a psychiatrist(s). The position also provides evaluation, treatment planning, and discharge-planning services for individuals in inpatient and/or outpatient clinic(s).

This position requires:
- Current licensure in the state of GA.
- Appropriate DEA licensure to include scheduled drugs preferred.
- Successful completion of an accredited Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Program OR Psychiatric Mental Health Certification required within 24 months of employment.
- Ability to formulate diagnosis based on examination, assessment, and test results.
- Ability to interpret test results, identify deviations from norms, and intervene or make appropriate referrals.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team of health care professionals.
- Ability to assess, plan for, and provide basic nursing skills.
- Ability to prescribe medications as part of a treatment plan gaining physician approval when needed.
- Knowledge of assessment tools, interviewing, and examination techniques.
- Knowledge of HIPAA.
- Knowledge regarding agreed upon practices and protocols.
- Knowledge of procedures including developing, implementing, and revising plan of care. Documentation skills meeting legal and professional standards; maintaining records appropriately.
