UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS ONLY – College Access & Group Visit Intern
Essential Functions
- Organizing and executing all aspects of group visits to the University of Denver with emphasis on college access.
- Communication with external groups, the Visit Team, and campus partners.
- Maintenance of the registration process and room reservations.
- Create end of year report and propose improvements to the group visit experience.
- Presentations to our visiting groups to create a successful and inclusive group visit experience.
- Planning and execution of the Pio Prep Leadership Institute held in July, and will occasionally assist with visit programs, diversity initiatives, and recruitment as a secondary responsibility.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to converse with a variety of families and prospective students.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to provide a positive, lasting impression of the DU community.
- Ability to present to large groups (information sessions last 45 minutes).
- Ability to work on average 12 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a full-time undergraduate student in good standing and must be a rising Junior or Senior.
- Fifth year, dual degree students will also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel is preferred.
- Proficiency in a second language (Spanish preferred) and/or American Sign Language.
- Standard office environment with occasional nights, early mornings, and weekend responsibilities.
- Unexpected interruptions occur often, and stress level is moderate to high.
- The noise level is quiet to moderate.
Physical Activities
- Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period.
- Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.
Compensation
- Admission Interns will earn an hourly rate and, assuming eligibility, a $2500 tuition stipend.
- They will be required to work on average 12 hours per week and will be paid $19.50/hour.
Scheduling
- The length of the position may vary depending on class standing.
- Autumn Quarter is required; therefore, students studying abroad in the fall will not be considered for this position.

- Attend our in-person Carousel Interview Day on Friday, January 17, 2025. This event is MANDATORY to be considered for the position. Please plan to be available during the late morning/early afternoon for approximately 4 hours. This day will consist of personal interviews with our current staff, moderated group projects, and more. If you have extenuating circumstances that prevent you from attending, please let David Downing know ASAP (more details concerning time, location, and logistics will be sent to you in late December / early January).
