Delaware NeuroRehab is a premier neuro-rehabilitation clinic dedicated to providing comprehensive and innovative rehabilitation services for patients with acquired brain and spinal cord injuries, spasticity and dystonia management, headaches, and some musculoskeletal issues. Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Physiatrist to lead our Outpatient Neuro Rehabilitation Clinic in Kent and the upcoming clinic in Sussex County. The ideal candidate is someone with a passion for neuro-rehabilitation, particularly TBI, a strong clinical background or a strong desire to learn management of acquired brain injuries (60-70%) and spinal cord injuries (5-10%), spasticity and dystonia management (20-30%) with botulinum toxin injections, phenol chemodenervation and Baclofen pump management, management of associated musculoskeletal conditions (10-20%) and the leadership skills necessary to build and manage an interdisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities:
- Clinic Leadership: Oversee the opening and daily operations of the new Outpatient Neuro Rehab clinic, ensuring a high standard of patient care and efficient clinical workflows.
- Patient Care: Provide comprehensive evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment plans for patients with a wide range of acquired brain and spinal cord related conditions and management of its complications.
- Team Collaboration: Lead a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including chiropractors, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, psychologists, neuropsychologists, and nurse practitioners, to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Program Development: Develop and implement rehabilitation programs and protocols that align with the latest evidence-based practices in neuro-rehabilitation.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction to continuously improve care delivery and maintain high standards.
- Community Outreach: Build relationships with local healthcare providers, hospitals, and community organizations to establish a referral network and promote the clinic’s services.
- Education and Training: Mentor and educate staff, including therapists and support staff, to enhance the clinical skills and knowledge within the team.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the clinic complies with all state and federal healthcare regulations, including maintaining proper documentation and upholding ethical standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: MD or DO with board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) with a passion for treating acquired brain and spinal cord injuries as well as management of their complications such as spasticity, dystonia, headaches and musculoskeletal issues. Fellowship training and Board Certifications are strongly preferred.
- Experience: 3 years of clinical experience in neuro-rehabilitation, with prior leadership experience preferred. Applications from new/recent graduates will be considered as well.
- Licensure: Active medical license in the state of Delaware or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Skills: Strong clinical, leadership, and organizational skills; proficiency in EMR systems; excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment: Passion for improving the lives of patients with neurological conditions and a desire to work in an interdisciplinary team setting.
