Director of Outpatient Services
Supervises outpatient services staff and ensures that in services and trainings are provided on a regular basis, develops and analyzes the effectiveness of programming. Ensures all Performance Improvement standards are monitored and feedback given to appropriate staff. Coordinates student intern placement for each unit. Assists in the hiring and evaluation of clinical services staff. Interfaces with staff at all levels.
Directly supervises less than 20 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assists departments and services to establish criteria and update programming where appropriate
- Consults with medical director in order to upgrade and monitor clinical services. Makes appropriate recommendations
- Coordinates with nurse managers in order to ensure the highest quality of patient care
- Maintains communication with all Nurse Coordinators and department heads, to facilitate cooperation and coordination of services to meet the goals and objectives of the hospital
- Ensures all necessary documentation, assessments and treatment plan requirements are complete in timely manner by both nursing and social work staff
- Establishes and maintains a written plan for service, which describes the nature and organization of their groups within the hospital
- Makes appropriate recommendations for program improvement, safety, and development
- Supervises and trains clinical social work students when appropriate
- Provides weekly supervision with clinical services staff and provides ongoing consultation and supervision
- Facilitates orientation of physician residents to ensure smooth transition to the facility
- Responds to constructive criticism with positive problem solving and action
- Shows emotional stability and does not let personal problems affect job performance
- Maintains positive working relationships with professionals within the community, including referral sources to the hospital
- Conducts monthly Performance Improvement Data Collection meetings, compiles quarterly report for Hospital CQI meetings and communicates problem areas with appropriate person
Qualifications
Required: Master's Degree from an accredited school in the Behavioral Sciences
Required: licensed or under supervision in state of Kentucky (CSW/LCSW CADC/LCADC, MFTA, LMFT, LPCA, LPCC, LPA, LPP)
Preferred: Fully licensed in the state of Kentucky (LCSW, LPCC, etc)
Required: One year direct leadership in a behavioral/mental health facility
Preferred: 3-5 years direct leadership in a behavioral/mental health facility
