Short Description- Performs CAT Scan procedures following protocols established by the Radiologist.
- Operates the CT scanner during IR procedures in the CT department.
- Maintains work area: Reports maintenance issues for equipment, monitors supplies and deficiencies.
- Adheres to all Infection Prevention policies, utilizing the appropriate PPE needed.
- Maintains licensure and BLS.
- Stays current and participates in departmental training offered.
- Demonstrates courteous behavior and a positive attitude through polite communication with all coworkers/customers.
- Understands and appreciates the need to provide good customer service, both internal and external.
- Participates in clinical activities (i.e., assists with patient flow/care, helps to optimize throughput of patients via Radiology Transport).
- Remains compliant with timekeeping rules: Avoids early, late, and unauthorized entries. Adheres to departmental procedures, fulfilling compliance with life safety, fire and hazardous waste, Radiation Safety, and Infection Prevention requirements.
- Attends staff meetings and reviews daily huddles to keep current on department communications.
- Participates in departmental on-call and holiday requirements.
Experience RequiredGeneral, Trauma, and ED experience required; experience with Pediatrics and Cardiac preferred but not necessary.
Education RequirementsGraduate of AMA Approved Radiologic Technologist Program. Must be enrolled in a qualified Computed Tomography program.
License/Certification RequirementsCurrent BLS Certification (Basic Life Support).
Current ARRT License (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).
Current NJ-RADTECH License (Radiologic Technologist).
Special RequirementsARRT Board Certified in Computed Tomography preferred. If not at the time of hire, must obtain within 12 months of employment.
