Under the direct supervision of a licensed, clinical audiologist, the Audiology Extern assesses and performs habilitation/rehabilitation of individuals with auditory and vestibular disorders, prevention of hearing loss, and research in normal and disordered auditory and vestibular function.
Essential Job Functions:
- Under the direct supervision of a licensed, clinical audiologist, identify, evaluate, and assist in the habilitation/rehabilitation of individuals with either peripheral or central auditory impairments as well as vestibular impairments, and strive to prevent such impairments.
- Provide information on hearing, hearing loss and disability, prevention of hearing loss, and rehabilitation to business and industry. Aid in the development and assist in overseeing hearing screening programs to detect individuals with hearing loss of all ages.
Required Education and Experience:
- Completing a BA/BS in an Audiology Program.
- One year clinical site requirement required for licensure.
