The Bitterroot Valley runs north to south in Western Montana. With mountains on both sides, it certainly is a beautiful area. Missoula is the closest city, with a population of about 70,000 and home to the University of Montana.

Tammany Veterinary Hospital opened in 2002 and moved to a newly built hospital in 2016. We are a primary care, large animal, four-doctor hospital. The majority of the caseload is equine (~90%), with the remainder consisting of small cattle operations and small ruminants. Our clientele is a mixture of performance, trail riding, and backyard horse owners.

The work schedule consists of four scheduled weekdays. Our doctors share on-call after hours, weekends, and holidays. We are on call for horse shows, rodeos, and other livestock events. Pay for this position is competitive and dependent on experience.
