Staff Nurse - Pre-Assessment
Brentwood Hospital | Nursing | Permanent | Part time
Up to £34,000 pro rata, dependent on experience
19 hours per week
We have a new opportunity for a staff nurse to join our busy Pre-Operative Assessment department in our nurse-led assessment clinics here at Nuffield Brentwood.
Running up to four busy clinics a day (Monday to Saturday) and work shift patterns of 08:00am – 18:00pm, four days a week, one Saturday clinic per month is to be expected.
As the first introduction to the hospital, it is imperative that you have good communication skills and a range of surgical knowledge. We pre-assess patients for a wide range of surgical procedures, so good general nursing knowledge is essential.
You will be given plenty of support to further your assessment skills and specific procedure-related skills during your induction period, and our friendly and supportive team will help you adapt your current skillset.
Very strong IT skills are essential as all onward referrals are sent via email to consultant surgeons, anaesthetists, and specialists, and more of our work is being transferred to IT systems.
We welcome candidates who have post-registration experience with or without experience in pre-assessment. Surgical knowledge is preferable, as is experience with a range of medications, although further training will be given.
