As The CORE Institute continues to grow, we are looking for Pool, Anesthesia Technicians/ORAs for the OR.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs room turnover between cases in an efficient manner, following Universal Blood and Body Fluid (UBBF) precautions and utilizing Personal Protective Eyewear (PPE).
- Performs terminal cleaning of OR suites following a predetermined schedule on a rotational basis using PPE and following UBBF Guidelines.
- Maintains the cleanliness, orderliness, and appearance of substerile rooms and scrub sink areas.
- Monitors the surgery schedule and watches par levels in supply and patient care areas.
- Communicates to Materials Management/Buyer regarding the need for additional supplies and assists in the restocking of those areas.
- Practices safe working methods and universal precautions, utilizing PPE to avoid injury to self and others.
- Is familiar with precautions and handles hazardous material in such a way to protect self and coworkers.
- Is familiar with the principles of Aseptic Technique and maintains a safe distance from the sterile field when performing job functions in the OR environment.
- Dons appropriate surgical attire within the semi-restricted and restricted areas of the OR which includes surgical scrubs, hair covering, and masks where indicated.
- Understanding of traffic patterns is displayed.
- Promotes cost containment by utilizing equipment and supplies in a cost-effective manner.
- Assists in the safe transfer and transport of patients using proper body mechanics.
- Assists with patient positioning under the direction of an RN or Physician.
- Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Provides anesthesiologist support as a physician extender and part of the patient care team.
- Is familiar with anesthesia machines and is responsible for maintaining proper working order of the machines.
- Performs any other duties assigned.
- The job holder must demonstrate current competencies for the job position.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent is required.
EXPERIENCE:
- One year of EVS experience required.
- Healthcare industry experience is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of floor cleaning equipment is helpful.
SKILLS:
- Good organizational skills.
- Pleasant disposition.
- Professional demeanor in patient communications.
ABILITIES:
- Ability to follow product use instructions.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Standing, and walking for long periods of time, exposed to a variety of environmental elements, and cleaning product odors.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Work requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires lifting, pushing and pulling of approximately 50 lbs.
