Job Description
Schedule: Sunday-Thursday
The Director of Resident Care plans, implements, directs, and monitors effective Assisted Living and Memory Care systems in accordance with Spectrum’s philosophy, policies, resident rights, and state regulations. They use effective interpersonal communication and leadership skills to motivate team members in providing quality care and services to promote and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
In this position, your main responsibilities will include:
- Direct resident well-being according to State regulations to ensure appropriate and acceptable standards of care and adequate staffing.
- Maintain a working knowledge of state regulations, policies, and procedures, dictated for compliance.
- In conjunction with the Executive Director, recruit, select, supervise, mentor, appraise, and counsel caregiving team members.
- In conjunction with the community’s multidisciplinary team, coordinate the resident admission process including screening, assessment, care planning, and team assignments.
- Ensure appropriate delivery of services as identified in resident care plans by delegating and communicating verbal and written expectations to caregiving team members.
Qualifications
To be successful in this position, we believe that you need the following experiences, strengths, and skills:
- LPN or RN Required.
- A strong background in assessing residents' behavioral symptoms and developing non-pharmacologic approaches to meeting residents' needs.
- Advanced certification in geriatric care, previous experience in an assisted living or residential care environment a plus.
- Meet the State qualifications and training requirements for the position.
- Must have computer skills – e-mail, documents, spreadsheets, and entering data.
- Must be medically able and willing to wear a NIOSH-approved tight-fitting respirator (N95 mask), if required by and in accordance with federal or state regulations or Spectrum policy.
