Pre-Licensed and Licensed Mental Health Therapist (Psychotherapist)

We are currently looking for Pre-Licensed and Licensed Mental Health Therapists. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will play a key role in providing psychotherapy services for children and adolescents, individuals, families, couples, and/or groups to a diverse population of clientele using a client-centered and culturally responsive approach based on your area of expertise. Services are provided in an outpatient setting, both in person and via telehealth. You will receive support from Canopy’s Clinical Manager and Administrative Team.

Hiring Salary Range: Pre-Licensed: $60,000-$69,000; Licensed: $70,000-$79,000. Starting salary will depend on your skills and demonstrated readiness for the role.
Hours/Day: Monday-Friday, 40+ hours a week, including evenings and weekends when necessary. Available to offer 2 evenings or 1 weekend per week.

Essential Job Functions
Service Providing
- Offer in-person and telehealth psychotherapy sessions.
- Participate in two group consultation meetings per month.
- Ensure delivery of clinical services in accordance with professional and ethical guidelines, as governed by Minnesota state statutes, insurance contracts, and clinician's licensing board.
Collaboration
- Collaborate with other providers, including school social workers, case managers, psychiatry, or other Canopy clinicians, to ensure appropriate coordination of care for clients.
- Refer clients to appropriate levels of care and/or other medical professionals and services that support their mental health.
- Consult with clinical manager and/or clinical supervisor as needed.
Documentation
- Use the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to maintain and store all necessary documentation (Canopy is a paperless company).
- Complete all clinical documentation in a timely manner (Diagnostic Assessments, Treatment Plans, Session Notes, Discharge Summaries, etc.), including submitting claims (billing) using the EHR system.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client assessment, treatment plans, progress notes, and any relevant correspondence in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Development
- Complete continuing education and trainings as outlined by the licensing board, including annual HIPAA Training and Certification (Separate Training Time and Stipend are available to full-time clinicians).
- Abide by professional codes of ethics and legal regulations governing the practice of psychotherapy, ensuring the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality, and client safety.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
- Must have completed a Master’s Degree or higher in a mental health-related field.
- Must be Pre-Licensed or Fully Licensed in the state of Minnesota to practice psychotherapy (LP, LPCC, LMFT, LICSW, PsyD).
- Must reside in the state of Minnesota.
- Must be passionate and knowledgeable in providing culturally responsive services.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of insurance billing process (CPT Codes, Diagnostic ICD Codes, use of Modifiers).
- 3+ years of unsupervised practice as a psychotherapist.
- Specialized training in a trauma-related modality.
- Specialized training in working with children, couples, families.
- Specialized training in working with marginalized communities.
Physical Requirements
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, and filing cabinets. This role must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
