Senior Accountant
Position Overview: The Senior Accountant in the manufacturing sector will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance within the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, cost accounting, and financial analysis to support operational efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Analyze variances between actual and budgeted financial performance.
- Analyze production costs and develop cost reduction strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory and fixed assets.
- Monitor manufacturing overhead and allocate costs appropriately.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analyses.
- Track performance against budgets and adjust forecasts as necessary.
- Conduct periodic audits and reviews of financial processes.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits.
- Conduct financial modeling and analysis to support strategic decisions.
- Assess financial implications of manufacturing operations and projects.
- Provide data-driven insights to management for operational improvements.
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial processes.
- Assist with payroll processing as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on manufacturing.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
