OPS Senior Community Health Nurse:
The OPS Senior Community Health Nurse operates within the immediate guidance of the overseeing nursing supervisor in the Refugee Clinic. The incumbent must possess a valid Registered Nurse license issued by the State of Florida or multi-state license from another Compact State.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
- Advocates for and sustains the well-being of individuals, families, and the community using suitable preventative and rehabilitative actions.
- Provides comprehensive nursing in FDOH-Hillsborough Refugee Health and in the community settings as warranted.
- Interviews, counsels, demonstrates, and teaches health principles.
- Maintains comprehensive quality records, collects, and reports relevant data to advanced practice registered nurses and physicians.
- Participates in case management meetings; formulates and evaluates care plans.
- Assists with health fairs, community organizations, and specific public health events as requested.
- Participates in continuing education, in services, and staff meetings.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Knowledge of planning principles and techniques.
- Ability to use problem-solving techniques.
- Knowledge of clinical operations and activities.
- Ability to effectively resolve conflict.
- Skill vaccinating adults and children.
- Applies nursing principles and techniques in the care, treatment, and assessment of clients.
- Assumes responsibility for initiating care, delivering treatment to patients, and accurately documenting patient care in the EHR in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Active Florida Registered Nurse license or a multistate license from another Compact State.
