Position Overview
- Full Time 36 hours per week
- Night Shift 7pm - 7am
- 1:4-5 patient ratio
Our patient population in our 24-bed unit are patients needing intermediate level of care. Our primary population requires BiPAP. We have four (4) designated ventilator beds, and Phillips wall mounted monitors in all rooms to monitor our telemetry patients.
We can assist you with earning your PCCN Certification and/or MedSurg Certification. ICU is our “sister” unit, and we share the same education team.
Minimum Requirements
License and Certification:
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Education:
- RN-Associate’s Degree, or
- RN-Bachelor’s Degree, or
- RN-Diploma, or
- RN-Master’s Degree
Qualifications:
BSN or MSN preferred. Meets and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty; Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire; Emergency Care - ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire; Oncology Care ONS/ONCC or Sentara approved course Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire. Women's Care - Perinatal departments; NRP within 6 months of hire. Inpatient Pediatrics. PALS within 6 months of hire. All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.
