This Birmingham Health System is seeking a Board certified/board eligible Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine physician to practice Integrative Medicine. Job features include the following:

Currently a solo practice, seeking a partner
The hospital will provide recruiting assistance for the first year; candidates must be new to the area or just out of residency
Base salary of $195K; part-time options available
$1,500 - $2,000 for CME
14 vacation days per year
401K with three-month buy-in
Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage available
B/E or B/C in FM, IM, or ED with an interest in Integrative Medicine
Not willing to support a visa
MD or DO, full-time or part-time, American or Internationally trained
10 exam rooms available for 2 physicians
See 20 – 25 patients per day
Utilize Hospitalists at the hospital
EMR system: EMD
Lab draws are sent out
In-office procedures include removal, freezing, joint injections, and acupuncture
Practice consists of 50% Blue Cross, 20% Medicare, and 20% other
Fun, open environment; low-stress atmosphere with good team dynamics
Patients have reasonable expectations, are compliant, and want to stay healthy
Patients seek a healthier approach compared to allopathic physicians
Typical day starts at 7:45 AM; sees 12 – 15 patients before lunch at 1 PM, then 2 – 4 patients in the afternoon; schedule is flexible
Takes own call 24/7 with an average of three calls per month
Most patients live within 10 – 15 miles, with some traveling 2 – 3 hours
