Physician - San Diego
Our Client is seeking a dedicated Physician to join their team, providing medical management to skilled and custodial patients across skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) in the San Diego region. In this role, you will conduct daily rounds, manage patient care, ensure compliance with contract requirements, and collaborate with nurse practitioners, particularly in a supervisory and teaching capacity.

You are an experienced physician with a passion for providing care to geriatric and rehabilitative patients. You have strong medical management skills, are comfortable supervising nurse practitioners, and are adept at managing patient length of stay in skilled nursing facilities. With at least 3 years of experience managing care in nursing homes or similar settings, you thrive in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Your Role
As a Physician for Our Client, you will:
- Provide medical management for skilled and custodial patients in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs).
- Conduct daily rounds, Monday through Friday, and manage patient care on skilled days.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure comprehensive care plans.
- Ensure timely documentation in the EMR for all visits and discharge summaries.
- Respond to calls and pages from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
- Participate in weekend and night call rotation (optional).
- Supervise and mentor nurse practitioners, especially new graduates, in a teaching capacity.
How You Qualify
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Current State of California medical license.
- DEA certificate.
- Current CPR certification.
- 3+ years of experience managing care in skilled nursing or long-term care settings.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex clinical cases and supervise nurse practitioners.
