Serving Northwest Louisiana & East Texas, Animal Emergency Clinic and Intensive Care Facility operates from 6pm to 8am throughout the week. Our purpose is to serve the community's pet owners in case of emergencies after Primary Care has closed. Our highly trained staff provides intensive care, emergency surgical procedures, and hospitalization options. The Animal Emergency Clinic is fully equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasonography, spacious surgical facilities with monitoring equipment, in-house laboratory machines, oxygen therapy, and a cat-friendly ward to provide our patients with the best quality medicine at the time of their visit.
Responsibilities
- Receive emergency and referral cases, manage hospitalized surgical and internal medicine patients, and collaborate with general practitioners and specialists.
- Admit animals for urgent overnight care when needed.
- Examine, diagnose, and treat a variety of ailments in small companion pets.
- Provide wound care including local or full anesthesia.
- Monitor in-hospital patients to maintain health during ongoing hospitalization.
- Provide educational advice to pet owners to ensure preventative measures are taken when needed.
RequirementsDoctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university.
Current DEA License or obtained upon hire.
Active Veterinary State License.
USDA Accreditation or obtained upon hire.
