The pain clinic consists of one physician currently, board certified with 30+ years of experience. He will be seeking to retire within the next two years; therefore, the hospital is doing some succession planning. It is very well established in the community (12 years) with an excellent reputation. The pain clinic is fully operational with a procedure room and is located in the hospital's MOB. The clinic has about 4,500 encounters per year and employs 1 Nurse Practitioner.
There are 4 Orthopedic Surgeons in the community that provide only block services but do not provide prescriptions any longer.
Call coverage is provided by the Anesthesiologists; the new provider will not have a call schedule.
The new provider will have great procedure opportunities.
