Prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies, utilizing a variety of equipment and following prescribed procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Administers therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under direction of physician.
- Follows radiation safety techniques when disposing radioactive materials.
- Performs a variety of tasks.
- Typically reports to chief technologist or manager.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.
- Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned.
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Medicine or successful completion of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology training program preferred.
- Current Registration with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required within one year of hire.
- PET/CT experience preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to maintain a standing position.
- Typical equipment used in a clinical job.
- Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend.
- Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment.
