Seeking an infusion experienced, reliable Family Nurse Practitioner to provide infusions and oversite of RNs in our infusion center. The NP will review, assess, and evaluate the appropriateness of the referral and treatment plan of the patient. The NP will collaborate with referring providers to provide individualized patient care and guidance as to the gold standard in infusions. This NP will report to and work with the AIC Nursing Director.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Expert peripheral IV and port access skills
- Support, advise, and educate registered nurses and other staff as issues arise in the infusion suite
- Have deep knowledge of chronic illnesses and required focused assessments
- Service patients receiving infusion therapy
- Mix medications following manufacturer guidelines using aseptic technique
- Support clinical staff to facilitate efficiency and quality patient care
- Support patients' educational needs
- Assess social determinants of health to identify gaps in care and provide resources
- Respond to patient emergencies including infusion hypersensitivity and anaphylactic reactions
- Review all referrals for appropriateness of diagnosis, dose, and route
- Determine the need for premedication and order as needed
- Assess need of labs required by drug manufacturers and order/obtain as needed
- Keep AIC Nursing Director abreast of all clinical updates and issues
- Must be on-site for the duration of all patient treatment
- Complete patient documentation in EMR by end of day
- Participate in the selection and hiring of personnel, as needed
- Participate in governance meetings
- May be required to travel to other clinics, as needed
- Ensures personal practice compliance with state and federal regulations
- Maintain quality practice throughout the clinic
- Participates as needed in all programs, licensure, and other external audits such as the Department of Health and National Infusion Center Association accreditation
- Stay current with the latest evidence-based practice
- Adheres to policies according to Nursing Standards and regulations, NICA Standards and company requirements

Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of approved, accredited Nurse Practitioner program as a Family Nurse Practitioner
- Certified nurse practitioner through ANCC/AANP
- Current unrestricted NP and RN license in Arizona
- Current basic life support/AED & ACLS certification
- NP license and national certification (ANCC or AANP, or the ability to obtain national certification and/or NP license in state of assignment) active, unencumbered licensure free any open/unresolved disciplinary actions including probation or restrictions against privilege to practice. May be requested to obtain additional licensure supported by business
- 1+ years of experience in a hospital, clinic, and/or ambulatory setting caring for children and adults
- Proven comfortable with pediatrics
- Proficient computer skills including the ability to document medical information with written and electronic medical records
Preferred Qualifications:
- Infusion related certifications, such as IgCN and/or CRNI
- 1+ years of PIV related clinical experience
- Experience in biologic therapy
- Experience in InfuseFlow EMR
- Experience in Unlimited Financials
- Demonstrated understanding of operational and business success
- Demonstrate effective communication and teaching skills with patients, family members, and other staff members
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions
- Demonstrated leadership, problem solving and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others
